Neighborhood Videos in HD

The Northgate Area-  Comprised of many neighborhoods with a lot of homes. Located in East Walnut Creek, most of the homes were built in the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and have long been popular for their traditional style single and two story floorplans.

New Northgate- Some of the newer constructed Walnut Creek homes are located in the Northgate Area. Subdivisions like Rancho Paraiso were built throughout the 90's by Herald Smith Construction.

The Woodlands- Once nothing but farmland and walnut groves. This all changed in 1961 and 1962 when several developers, including Leadership, MacKay and Hofman, were the first to break ground and build the Woodlands.

Lake Lakewood Area- It's always a surprise to anyone who doesn't know, that there's a lake in Walnut Creek. Lake Lakewood was man made and has a lot of history. Most of the home development in Lakewood began in the 1930's when it was expected that the opening of the Caldecott Tunnel would increase demand for homes in Walnut Creek.

Crystyl Ranch- Crystyl Ranch is a beautiful neighborhood nestled in the Mt. Diablo foothills of Concord, Ca. Located between Walnut Creek and Clayton, homes in Crystyl Ranch are close in proximity to parks, shopping, dining, entertainment, schools and just about the best the East Bay has to offer.

Elderwood Glen- Elderwood Glen is a subdivision located in Martinez, Ca. There are 55-60 homes, homes range from 3-5 bedrooms and are known for their spacious rooms. Elderwood Glen is also centrally located to downtown Martinez, downtown Pleasant Hill, Concord, Lafayette and Walnut Creek.

Chateau Ridge- Chateau Ridge is a wonderful neighborhood settled in the foothills of Martinez, Ca. The neighborhood has a private setting with most of the homes backing to the open space and green belt.

Valley High- These beautiful homes were built by the well know builder, Davidon Homes.  There are many home models to choose from, ranging from single stories to split level homes. The 3-4 bedroom homes have luxury features including skylit entry halls, vaulted ceilings, wet bars, woodburning fireplaces and spacious Master suites.

Alamo, CA- Alamo, CA is an unincorporated community with high demand real estate. It is located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, nestled between Walnut Creek and Danville. The average home price in Alamo is $1.1 million in comparison to the average home price in the state of California at $347,000.

Walnut Creek House Hunt: 1333 Ptarmigan Drive

Melanie Peterson-Katz has a listing at 1333 Ptarmigan Drive, No. 7, which has just been listed. This was featured on Patch a few weeks ago, it's a two-bedroom, two-bath co-op  with 1,162 square feet of living space in the Rossmoor Retirement Community.

A co-op is like a condominium but instead of buying just the unit, you are buying into a share of the building itself.  When someone purchases a condo, they are simply buying the airspace between the walls. As for a co-op, you are buying shares into a resident-owned and managed building. It's a group effort, like buying into a corporation.

The home shows really well and professional stager Judi Haile, who got called in to update the home, showed us what she did in order to transform the outdated into something extra buyer friendly. The fresh paint and carpet will give a seller the biggest bang for their buck. The kitchen looks amazing and was quite impressive when I took a look at the before photos.

They both put it in beautiful condition and the home is simply ready to move in.

House Hunt Videos For Walnut Creek Patch

Hey everyone! I'm hosting a web series on Patch.com for the Walnut Creek website. The web series is called "House Hunt" and I will be featuring one home per week. So far it's going amazing and I'm getting a lot of great feedback.

If you have a listing out there in Walnut Creek and you're not camera shy, please contact me. We're a couple weeks into the series and we'd like to keep bringing the house hunt and really grow the audience.

Patch.com is a website owned by AOL Time Warner. AOL is banking on the hyper-local news market and is doing quite well. From what I've heard the sites are getting thousands of local hits a day and they are selling ad space fast. So long newspapers!

So, I'll be the sites weekly real estate contributor and if you have an upcoming listing just let me know. You can watch last weeks episode here.

Walnut Creek House Hunt: 140 Lancaster Road

All this rain! It doesn't stop! But then it did and we headed over to 140 Lancaster Road in Walnut Creek where we went on tour with Terrylynn Fisher in her newly listed home.

This property has just hit the market and it's priced to sell. Anyone with a family won't pass this added on family room and updated kitchen up. It's great for entertaining because there is so much room in the common areas.

There are two added on rooms upstairs and they are big. The master bath is beautiful and I loved the closets.

Surprisingly there was a backyard with technically a sixth room. The hobby room gets electricity and could be a great place for someone's son who wants to learn the drums.

Walnut Creek House Hunt: 418 Golf Court

Here's a luxurious Walnut Creek home in the Northgate Area. We went on tour with Leslie Mills and Debrah Smith who are selling the property, 418 Golf Court.

This home has an amazing foyer with super high ceilings. Features a cool bonus room upstairs and the master bedroom shows beautifully.

Kitchen and family room is really open, great for entertaining and the backyard has to be the best selling point of the home. It has a beautiful swimming pool and spa with a waterfall. Resort style living at in Walnut Creek at it's finest, felt like I was at the Ritz Carlton.

The homes location is incredible. Located in a cul-de-sac the property sits next to Club Sport and the Boundary Oaks Golf Club. Summer time won't be boring for whoever buys it. What a great home!

Martinez House Hunt: 1304 Highland Avenue

Here's a cool house. We went on tour with Jennifer Griessel of Prudential Realty in this historic property she's selling. The home was built in 1916 for Judge Bray and is located just a short walk from the Martinez courthouse.

The home is a 3 bedroom 3 bath and went through renovation in 2003. Downstairs is really nice with a movie theater, bar and hobby room. The home has really has everything.

Walnut Creek House Hunt: 3356 Westport Court

We went on tour in a home located on a cul-de-sac in the Pheasant Run neighborhood. Pheasant Run is one of the many neighborhoods that makes up the Northgate Area in Walnut Creek.

3356 Westport Court is listed by Jennifer Griessel with Prudential Realty and has been beautifully updated from roof to driveway. She says the sellers have updated the whole house and after seeing it, it shows great. Everything from the kitchen to the private backyard, which has an extra kitchen.

The living room features an awesome, custom built entertainment center with shelves for DVD storage. This model is the biggest of the neighborhood, featuring a three car garage and don't forget Northgate High is just walking distance away.

This is our second installment to the Walnut Creek House Hunt series. Please, contact me if you are an agent in Walnut Creek and would like to have a house featured.

Walnut Creek House Hunt: 37 Terra Bella Drive

Patch.com's first episode of "House Hunt." Holly Kersis premiered this updated home in the Walnut Heights neighborhood.

Are We Heading Into A Double Dip Recession?

There is talk out there about the economy and a possibility of heading into another recession. Housing prices across the United States have fallen 2% since last December. The unemployment rate is remaining steady, we're not seeing job growth or job losses. Keep in mind that there is an oversupply of homes right now and a shadow inventory of foreclosures that have not yet hit the market. Getting out of this economic mess will depend heavily on job growth and on how the Obama Administration handles the foreclosure problem.
